Thinking in the 21st Century
This will be a survey of concepts and disciplines — from complexity science to design thinking — that will be shaping our future. More ambitiously, I’m going to incorporate a bit of novelty by introducing some concepts and practices I’ve been developing independently.
Some of the questions answered:
- Which modes of knowledge and thought will thrive in the 21st century?
- Exactly how will knowledge and ideas in the future emerge from our current knowledge and ideas?
- Which disciplines and fields will gain or lose stature?
- What should we be learning?… What should we be un-learning?
A lot of posts already address some aspects of it:
- Social Media, Structure, and the Creative Cycle
- Learning Heuristically
- Managing Our Cognitive Biases
- Meta Factors
- The New Digital World-View
- Creative Philosophy
- The New Pragmatist
I’d also like to make it an ongoing project in order to keep incorporating new ideas — especially to make it more globally-oriented by diving into different cultural backgrounds.
