Good post this morning Brian. I especially appreciated that you recognize the important role of people in things we do. Unfortunately, sometimes this gets forgotten in the planning and the execution of great ideas and then we find ourselves wondering 'how did that fail or why didn't that get the traction it deserved - it was such a great idea?'.

The unfortunate reality is that great ideas fail all of the time - likely because they failed to reach out and connect with people at this deeper level that you write about. I suggest we should all keep our eyes out for those successes (and the failures) for the constant reminder that it really is all about people.

Thanks for the coverage, Brian. I was interested in the size of the surplus; glad to see the number you reported here. Like your comment about getting the people part right — and the rest following. Thanks also for the heads-up about SMarts.
