Last week there were a couple of remarks on Twitter about Clay Shirky’s Here Comes Everybody and within an hour or so we had a handful of people interested in doing some sort of book club.
So far 9 people have signed up for the group at Goodreads. It’s open to anyone in the London area. I have a few thoughts about creative ways to do it — but I’ll get into those…
We don’t have to start with Shirky — though it looks like most members already own it and at least one has read it; it’s part of research I’m doing this month anyways. Titus added Groundswell – another must-read, which @SteveatLFPress talks about – and I also added What Would Google Do?, which I’ve read (and loved) and I see from people’s “shelves” some other members have it as well.
There will be some informal discussion at tomorrow night’s Geek Dinner at Black Shire about exactly what/how/when/etc. If you have any concrete ideas that would be the time to suggest them — or in the comments below — for now…

Sounds great! I'm excited to bounce ideas off people as we read the books together.
Me too — my feeling is the books will be jumping-off points or discussion anchors for practice-oriented brainstorms & critiques.
