Yeah I don't use the phrase “circle jerk” nearly enough. Too hipster. Damn hipsters… But as part of my ongoing popularity odyssey I'm going to start using it in my snarling gang bang of mixed and semi-appropriate metaphors.

I think that last sentence is a result of the “use lots of confusing and/or shocking words and hope someone thinks you're really deep” school of thought.

But I think all he's really saying is that hipsters, and reactions to hipsters, are a result of being fed up with mainstream culture. Well, duh. “Snarling circle jerk” is a colourful way of illustrating the method of rebellion though. :)
