Where Creative Thinking Leads

07-30-2008

Yet another new version of my homepage. Some changes to point out: 1. De-emphasizing ‘Brian Frank’ and focusing on ‘Open Conceptual.’ 2. The upfront email contact (for people I don’t already know) is now connect@openconceptual.com instead of my silly gmail address. 3. I was thrilled to discover that some of the essay excerpts can be arranged into a fairly coherent account of what Open Conceptual is about. 4. My del.icio.us link roll isn’t working and I don’t care [correction: yes it is]; I’m going to start posting especially noteworthy “Recent Links” manually (and of course suggestions are welcome). 5. Finally, most importantly, Open Conceptual’s new slogan is “where creative thinking leads,” which has two equally valid meanings: the first is that Open Conceptual’s leadership thinks creatively; the second meaning is that Open Conceptual is where we end up by thinking creatively about everything — or at least that’s the objective. But the notion that creative thinking leads someplace is just a metaphor. We don’t really go anywhere: we grow: we cultivate creative mastery and freedom — which brings us back to the first meaning: Open Conceptual is the enterprise led foremost by creative thinking.
